Hi,

Sorry if this intrudes. The above email addresses were stumbled upon
while roaming the internet.

I've been trying to locate the family of a granduncle (William
Clabby) who migrated to California sometime after the First World War
and before my birth. I did meet him once, as a child, when he visited
New York.

To help identify this "Will" Clabby, he was on a troop carrying ocean
liner which was torpedoed off Scotland. Surviving that incident, he
went on to serve with the U.S. Army Air Service. His sister,
Elizabeth Clabby, was my grandmother. His parents migrated from
Ireland, where his father was a teacher. His father worked as a
tailor in New York City. Will, before moving to California, sold
automobiles.

I have a number of images of Will and his family, as well as
postcards sent from France while actively serving in the military.

I recognize that discovering the descendant of a granduncle on the
internet is a very "long shot." However, it was deemed reasonable to
follow this admittedly slim lead.

Should you be, or know of, Will's family, please pass along this
information. The memorabilia in my possession is digitized and can be
transferred to a DVD which I'll be happy to mail.

If this message is without basis, please forgive the intrusion.

Sincerely,

Bernie Stolzman
