But works, and I've seen a lot of code that does simple FTP pushing or
pulling files.

If we take this out, we'll lose this functionality from stdlib.

I'm -1 on this removal.

Furthermore: I propose that if you explicit more the "crappiness" of
it, I'd take a serious look at it.
