I'm -1 on this. FTP is still used to access embedded devices and  
Twisted is overkill for small scripts.

One usecase I use ftplib for is automaticly downloading configuration  
and error-logs from a number of devices that only offer FTP access to  
the raw data (and at best a crummy HTTP interface with a GUI).
