Hello Austin Python User's Group,
Better late than never we'd like to announce pyTexas on Oct 24-25 in
Fort Worth. Please see the wiki for details:
http://pycamp.python.org/Texas/HomePage
The left sidebar under pyTexas has links about talks, meal gatherings,
sprints, facility details, PythonLabs, and most importantly
registration. Registration is free but we need to know approximately
how many people are coming. If you are tentative please join the
pyTexas mailing list (linked from the registration page) and let us
know. We need to know in advance how many people will attend, since
each attendee will need a separate wireless network account.
We have some good talks lined up, but still have slots open if you
want to announce a talk in advance. Of course, we also expect some
last minute 'unconference'-style talks which are represented in the
schedule as 'Open Space' slots.
Due to lack of advance marketing only 11 people so far have confirmed
that they will attend, but we know about a few tentative attendees and
expect more registrants in the coming days. Most of the attendees are
experienced Python programmers and some have volunteered to teach for
the Beginner's Track, but we are not yet sure if we'll have any
newbies attending the beginner's track.
Also, please help us spread the word about this. I'm sorry we did not
get in contact earlier with the Austin Python User Group; I was under
the misconception that someone on our organizer cc list was from
Austin and would get the word out.
