[Texas] Time to Bring PyCon Back to Texas?

Sounds like a great idea. I wasn't aware either city was putting in a bid for 2016, so this is good news to me.

If it would be any help, maybe Mathieu Leduc-Hamel or one of the other organizers at Montreal Python could provide some insight on how the big process went for them.

Hey everyone,

Just saw this now. Van Lindberg and a whole bunch of Austin Python
folks participated in the infosession about bidding for PyCon 2016,
and what we came up with was an idea to do a joint bid.  That is, both
San Antonio and Austin contingents will submit bids for their
individual city, but we will also sign on to support each other's bid,
namely, if PyCon chooses either city, locals from the other city will
also contribute resources and such.  The idea is that this increases
the chances that a Texas city will make it into the finalists
(currently it looks like Portland and Boston folks are showing some
interest...).  Apparently Santa Clara & San Jose put together a joint
bid in a similar way.

One of my to-dos was to create a mailing list for people interested in
working on the "Go Texan" project.  I will announce this list shortly.
