you mean, implement the Tkinter app in windows, and use windows
commands wherever possible, only invoking cygwin where absolutely
necessary?
not exactly. I meant:
1. leave the *Pmw* version untouched
2. leave the original application untouched
3. don't use cygwin. instead, implement the missing commands yourself; possibly by writing wrappers around windows commands
