The text widget does not have a textvariable option.  However, it does have a
virtual event named '<<modified>>'.  You can bind to this event, and you'll
get a callback when the widget it modified.  You'll only get the callback
the first time that the widget is modified.  If you want to get a callback
every time the widget changes, then you'll have to reset the modified flag
in your callback.
