It does. I guess only advanced users use find as you type, and they know they can use Ctrl-F to start an explicit search.

I’ll need to dig them up, but the gist of it was that commonly-used browsers took up (nearly) all key combinations, so using only numbers for accesskeys is recommended.

Maybe. (The location would be the user profile I think.)

Did you get the feedback you wanted? Here it works well (X11, Iceweasel).
