Well, it turns out I have to go to Tampa on MLK Day for a meeting of the board of the organization which pays my bills. Thus, I'm going to have to postpone. Tentatively, I'm saying President's Day weekend (Feb 13-16). But stay posted. There is a slim possibility that SFUP may still be coming to NC to do a sprint that weekend on the Outer Banks. I guess that also means that people who do their Plone Jam thing on alternating Fridays should go ahead and plan their regular Plone Jam for Friday Jan 16. -- Sincerely, Chris Calloway http://www.secoora.org office: 332 Chapman Hall phone: (919) 599-3530 mail: Campus Box #3300, UNC-CH, Chapel Hill, NC 27599 From cbc at unc.edu Thu Jan 8 21:06:07 2009 From: cbc at unc.edu (Chris Calloway) Date: Thu, 8 Jan 2009 15:06:07 -0500 Subject: [TriZPUG] March Special Meeting Message-ID: <159048F9-0E41-4550-9FDF-301A185CD18B@unc.edu> I'd like to draw you attention to this special announcement: http://trizpug.org/Members/mrevoir/mar-09-mtg For more information, see: http://vpython.org/ I've been trying to get us this program for a long time. In our original Windows install using Plone-3.0.6.exe, ZMI had a very full fledged control panel menu. When I open the ZMI now with the url *localhost/manage* I have none of the navigation features that I used to have. When I use *manage/control_panel*/ I can get a left nav bar with some navigation features, but still not as many as I remember seeing in the earlier install. Foremost, I am looking for a way to manage the zopedb, i.e., compact the DB from the ZMI, rather than from Site setup within plone. Is there a way to do this? I recall it being so but forget how. Here's an idea: Can you verify that you are: a) using the url to your instance, rather than the Plone site, and b) using a zope user rather than a Plone user to log in? The db packing should be via the control_panel version of the link (you will see info for the database, then you can click on each mount point and pack from there). Hope that helps! -chris > > Today's Topics: > > 1. I suggest you meet in Phillips 328 instead and post a notice on the door of the Chapman 4th floor Marine Sciences suite, please. Phillips 328 is already reserved as a backup and is always unlocked. There are about ten of you who are managers of the site and can make the changes to the meeting notice in my folder and on the front page. Don't forget to pimp the special March meeting at the meeting tomorrow. Thanks and don't worry. I'm stuck on the plane at the gate in Chicago now while maintenance workers are trying to fix a fuse in the onboard coffee pot. I can't get home fast enough.
