[Tutor] What is Ellipsis for?

Me too. I've hunted for examples of "extended slicing" in the tutor 
and in the other docs but other than the language lawyer stuff its 
a black hole. 

Now I'm curious, what is extended slicing? And where do ellipses come 
into it?
