My question isn't so much as what I'm trying to do as to whether my python scripting is sound. This is the first python program I've written that wasn't throw away code and wondered if I'm on the right track as far as writting good code goes. I'm especially interested in thoughts on how I've used exceptions -- am I using them properly, too many, not enough? Joel
