[Tutor] Implementing Genetic Algorithm in Python

Hello tutors, 
 In a recent publication by Journal of Biological
Chemistry, a group of scientists implemented gentic
algorithm to cluster a set of genes based on the
statistical values arising from measuring gene
expression values.  I am very much interested in using
the identical approach on my own data to ask different
questions. 
    Is python suitable for implementing Genetic
Algorithms? Are there any libraries or modules that
are useful for implementing GAs.  Is there any site
where I can get some information.  I am interested in
knowing more from tutors.
