To me "files", "lines", "bytes" implies collections of files, lines 
bytes. (i.e. arrays or tuples...)
"___count" implies an integer.
If the latter, I'd use "n_files", "n_lines" ... (possibly without the 
underscores if you find typing them a bother.)
