I heard rumours that this week's meeting is more on Django with some
involvement from Brent. Someone confirm, please.

I noticed that the website calendar was a couple months out of date.
Let's try to keep it up to date. It doesn't matter much for those of
us in the know who attend regularly and know that our meetings are
actually happening. To the potential new member it may appear like
we're inactive or struggling when in fact we're seeing consistent
attendance of 5 to 10 people.

By the way, this mailing list is now up to 30 members. I'm looking
forward to seeing some of you Wednesday night,

Stuart.

I'm afraid I have nothing to contribute on Django. As often happens with
the best laid plans, this one fell by the wayside. I lost all momentum once
I ran into Django's template syntax, and just recycled an old script that
was sufficient for what I needed.

Hope that doesn't cause any problems for the meeting...

Brent

Well, I know I for one was looking forward to last month's intro to Python
topic, but it seemed as though that plan, too, fell by the wayside. Though
admittedly that topic wouldn't make much sense if I'm the only one that
would get anything out of it.

For once I've got neither work nor class on a Wednesday evening. Maybe I'll
actually attend for once. :)

I don't know if you are the only one. I've been away from it for a few
months and a refresher would be nice.

As a way to get back into it I'm working on a way of using Python to
convert from a simple "mark up" language to HTML. It's so I can keep
track of my videos.

I'll be there too. Seems a student of a daughter of a friend messed up
their computer and I need to fix it up before I go. I may even bring out
my friend who would also like to have an introductory session (although
he may chicken out). ;-)

No, it was my fault. I apologize for not following up on my own
suggestion. I've been slaughtered at work the last couple of weeks, and
this was one thing that kept falling off the todo list. I should have at
the very least said "I can't do it, does anyone else have time?"

I agree that the Django templating syntax is not quite as nice as it
could be. I really did intend to try to run Django with Zope page
template system, but as a result of pressure at work, I haven't had even
the remotest chance to try it.

Perhaps we could use some of the time tonight to set a plan for the next
few meetings so that we don't run into this again.

Again, please accept my apologies for dropping the ball on this.

Regards,
Syd
