I'll confess that I didn't entirely understand what you meant by "computed 
attributes" as opposed to __[g/s]etattr__, and I'm sure I missed your 
arguments about it in the misty past.

Could you give an example?  Could your ideas be implemented without slowing 
things down a la __[g/s]etattr__?
