As a general note, while we're talking about CDATA, please use code 
like this:

'<![CDATA[%s]]>' % string.replace(markup, ']]>', ']]>]]&gt;<![CDATA[') 

to emit "markup" as a CDATA section. Most people tend to forget to 
handle the case that ]]> appears in the text.
