Yes, probably. A database which is equally supported in all these
languages is another option (and which fulfills your requirement of no
administrative overhead). BSDDB (www.sleepycat.com) comes to mind;
this is a database format that requires no database management, is
accessible from all these languages, and is *very* efficient.
