[XML-SIG] stop SAX parsing?

is it possible to stop a SAX parser in the middle of an XML document?

Let's say, I'm looking for a special element, and after I recieve its con=
tent,=20
I would like to stop the parsing process since I found what I was looking=
=20
for?
