Initial Comment:
xbel_parse contains support for a --msie option which 
is not implemented in bookmark.py where the logic 
lives.

This issue is already pretty old, see 
http://bugs.debian.org/111438

Maybe the --msie option could just be removed from 
xbel_parse...
