[Mailman-Users] Gzipping archives

Other than reading the code, which I'm assuming you've done, nothing
pops to mind.  ARCHIVE_TO_MBOX has to be either 1 or 2, and 
GZIP_ARCHIVE_TXT_FILES needs to be 0.  Try -v and see if that
illuminates anything.
