Since the above may have gotten munged in the translation, check that mytest
looks something like this:
rwxr-sr-x   1 portal  site76       28 May 25 02:39 mytest*

ie group ownership of site76 and the "s" in the group bits indicating sgid.
If so, and the resultant output file, "myfile" does not have a group ownership
of site76, then it looks like you can't sgid on your system for whatever reason
(but not NFS/autofs as this is a local fs). Time to talk to your friendly
sysadmin.
