Getting http://www.kanga.nu/lists/listinfo/mud-dev/ to look right took almost an hour. It still isn't quite right, but I've given up trying to fix the last niggles figuring its "good enough".
Note: The only editing I did on the template was on the archives section as I don't use pipermail. All the rest is via the template expansion.

I agree completely. I think there's a lot we could improve here, although it'll naturally be after 1.0. This might include revision control, higher level selection of template parts (e.g. checkboxes to include certain sections), etc. I don't have any bright ideas though.
I've taken to never removing anything from the HTML. I just comment stuff out all over the place.

Hi Friends...
... *blush* (gulp)
just FYI: I kinda "solved" my problem today, unfortunately.
I happened to use the "rmlist" script from Mailman 0.95 without parameters. Then, I realized that this removed *all* mailing lists of starship.skyport.net in a single sweep.
Dead, done, no more archives, oh well. I will be able to rebuild the python-de archive from my local mailboxes, but my customers will be unhappy...
So, I no longer have a migration problem :-( :-) :-/ !-[

Gack! Well, at least this particular bug is fixed in Mailman 1.0b9 (going out today). Small consolation...
