internationalization of Mailman
I am french and i need to translate -at least- all the member and user part in French. I noticed that all of the message that are not in the templates are hard-coded into mailman. I am ready to translate the member and user message to french but i need to know how i can do that. We'd like the translation to be easily adapted to next versions of mailman.
In the archive someone seem to have started i8n with GNU gettext to spanish, i'd like to do same for french if no one has done it yet. But i need to be sure that french translation will be compatible with next versions of mailman. Currently i don't see any .mo ou .mo file in mailman rc3 dist. Where can i find the framework to implement i8n ?
PS: I need to have a quick answer because i have a deadline of 4 days to finish the mailing-list in my society (ZDNet France).

You can translate html templates. Nothing more is done. The project is in early stage and the result is not usable for any public accesible listserver.
I see no posibility to make all right in 4 days. But there is probably no one listserv software, which is translated in French, so You can still use mailman and wait for usable internazionalized version. We can send You the .po catalog for future translation.
cheers dan

There really is no comprehensive framework for supporting I18N in Mailman 1.0, but I would really like to put together a task force for supporting this in the next release.

Hello,

I'd like to be in that TF. I18N is really needed at my site.
BTW I have another feature request: MODERATOR-WEB-INTRFACE
How abount a moderator web-interface? The normal admin interface is much to "technical" for the moderators at my site. They just need to subscribe/unsubscribe, change users and authorize posts to the list. They should not have any options to change the webpages the listinfo...
So long

I agree. Moderator and admin should be two separate roles.
