Dear Christophe, AFAICT, Ousmane Wilane (wilane@yahoo.com, CC'ed) is currently championing the French translation. Contributions are certainly welcome. Unless Ousmane suggests otherwise, I'd encourage you to produce a patch (diff -u) for the message catalog and the templates. If you have any questions on the technicalities, don't hesitate to ask.
