Hi Noah, I sent a response back to Mariatta, but I’m not sure if it made it to the whole mailing list. We sent out our call for proposals to over 100 organizations and individuals to help us achieve a more diverse line-up. Even with all our efforts, we sometime do not succeed in finding speakers. We did not exclude anyone from presenting at this conference, we simply did not have any diverse submissions. We would love help getting representatives from diverse groups to apply to speak. We are actively looking to improve and learn how to target a wider net of people to submit presentations at our conferences. Any advice is welcome. Six Feet Up, the organizer of IndyPy, is a WBE, so we definitely understand the need to create a diverse and inclusive line-up. We actively advocate for more women and diversity in tech, and we are always looking for ways to encourage more engagement with the community. We currently have an open CFP for our IndyPy Web Conf in June. It is a 2-day conference, and are seeking 44 speakers. It would be fantastic to see more submissions from the diverse Python community, with any level of speaking experience. If there is any advice on how to improve our Papercall verbiage, we would love feedback.
