Thanks everyone for the useful input.
Tom, thanks also for highlighting the reprojection functionality as I wasn’t aware of it - that’s certainly something that’ll be useful to keep in mind. BTW, one of the additional bits of functionality that healpy provides is functionality associated with spherical harmonics. I’m fairly new in terms of working in this domain and I could be wrong but I assume this is not available elsewhere?
It would be a shame if licensing was the primary issue that prevented healpy from being incorporated - hopefully this can change in future.
