June 6-8 - Women's Contact Improvisation
Lani Nahele (Lisa Schmidt) and Shakti Andrea Smith

Join us as we enter the dance of Contact Improvisation with Women: For the
safety of it, for the challenge of it. For the fact that we know each other's
bodies as we know ourselves. For the "deliciousness" of women in community
with each other. Being with our curves, our strength, and the delight of our
empathic listening. We will practice lifting and carrying, using our strength
with new ease. We'll work with trust, balance, and our willingness to give
weight. This event will encourage taking leadership and initiative, as women
and as dancers. Tuition/Room/Board: $250. To register, please contact
Earthdance at 413-634-5678 or visit www.earthdance.net.

Lani Nahele (Lisa Schmidt) was a member of the Trisha Brown Dance Company
from 1985-1992 and is now a teacher, performer and Certified Practitioner of
Body-Mind Centering. She teaches throughout North and South Americas and
Europe. She works with healing and the awareness of the physical, the
intellectual and the spirit through movement. For the past fifteen years she
has worked in the field of Improvisational Performance and has
co-choreographed numerous evening-length duets. Some of her collaborators
include: Olivier Besson, Helge Musial, Dieter Heitkamp, Johanna Walker, Frey
Faust, David Hurwith, Eva Geueke, Gabriela Morales, and the Improvisational
sextet "Playing Field"

Shakti Andrea Smith is a dancer and bodyworker inspired by over 15 years of
investigations of dance and stillness. She teaches Contact Improvisation,
Authentic Movement, Yoga, Dance Meditation, and Movement for Bodyworkers in
the Boston area, at Earthdance, throughout New England and beyond. Other
movement influences include Action Theater, Butoh, being in nature and other
pathways to being more fully alive and present in this moment.
