Hey, that works great.  I've uploaded canvas3.py with attribution and the
newer version of nks.py, with a tie-back to this thread.

I wonder how many intro level CS courses do anything with Wolframs NKS
and/or cellular automata more generally.  Is there a lot of Squeak stuff on
this?
