your quickest and cheapest option looks like it is the national
express coach: it takes 2hrs 30 mins, is direct (except one very early
one and one late one), and goes at at least these times:

07:00 08:15	09:30 10:45	12:00	13:00	14:15
15:30	16:45	18:15	19:45	21:30

to travel into euston from heathrow will take over an hour; to travel
by train takes 1hr 30 mins.

even taking 12:00 arrival into account, i'd give serious consideration
to just ... pffh, having some lunch, and wait for the 13:00 coach.

finding the national express coach point at heathrow should be pretty
straightforward: let's have a look...
http://www.heathrow-airport-guide.co.uk/national-express-coach-heathrow.html

 ah _ha_:

"Terminal 5
National Express Coaches to Terminal 5 will use stops 13-16 just
outside the terminal building for pick up and drop off."

but if you really didn't want to do that, go to Terminal 1-2-3, use
the central bus station:

"Terminals 1, 2 and 3
Pick up and drop off points for terminal 1, 2 and 3 are located at the
Central Bus Station, which is just a short walk from the check in area
and is clearly signposted from around the airport."

so, quite straightforward, no messing about with london underground or
buses: get off plane, walk a bit, get lunch, get on coach, arrive
birmingham.

i live about 15 mins from heathrow (ok, it would be if the local buses
were regular and on time) so it's easy for me too. i'd be mad to get
the train, and i'm really grateful to the person who reminded me a
couple months back that the coaches exist!
