Hi everyone,

I organize a group of developers at the University of Washington.
Developers in academia suffer from not being able to code with other
developers. We don't even get code reviews. So, I started this group so we
can talk about our code, the unique issues we run into developing for
research, and learn from each other. The most interesting thing we have
been doing lately is going through design patterns. Each meeting we talk
about a new design pattern, and how we would implement it in different
languages, and how it might be useful for research/data analysis software.

So glad to hear about different meeting ideas and organizations!

cheers,
Maria
