Hi All

I hope this email finds you well. As we have received the go-ahead to
kick-start PyCon India 2023 preparations, I wanted to provide everyone with
a quick update on our progress. Below are some of the updates and tentative
timelines that we have discussed internally within the HydPy team. Although
we cannot commit to providing weekly updates at this moment, we will make
sure that regular updates are shared with everyone here.

   - The initial team has been formed and workgroups will be created once
the call for volunteers is done
   - We have decided to go with PyCon India 2023 dates as "29th Sept - 2nd
Oct" as mentioned in the initial proposal
   - We have started working on a placeholder website, please feel free to
provide suggestions and inputs on PR [1]
   - We have also prepared a "Call for Volunteers" form, which will be
   shared next week
   - We are also working on a teaser video to announce PyCon India 2023 on
   social media
   - We have received the required access to social media channels
   - Meanwhile, we are also in the process of getting the required access
to the Github Org from the previous year's team

Also, below is the tentative timeline for some of the initial milestones:

   - PyCon India 2023 placeholder website launch - 27th March
   - Announcement of PyCon India 2023 - 28th March
   - Call for Volunteers - 30th March
   - Start looking for Keynote Speakers - 1st April
   - Finalize keynote Speakers - 30th April
   - Shortlist Conference Venues with 1000+ capacity - 30th April
   - Get Junction [2] up and running by 30th April
   - CFP (call for proposals) Launch - 1st May
   - PyCon India Final Website Launch - 15th May
   - Finalize a Venue - 15th May
   - Start looking for Sponsors - 15th May

Please feel free to share your suggestions or thoughts. We will be using
Github issues to seek suggestions for Keynote Speaker selection and Venue
shortlisting.
