I think it depends on what you're doing...  I spend far more time browsing
my subscribers, looking for, say, who's in nomail, or something like that,
and less often am I in "I need bob" mode, so a clunky browse the list 
interface really bothers me (and several of my admins).  The search box
is great if you're looking for someone in particular.  But useless if you just
want to see all your subscribers.
