Since what you're doing is essentially crossposting, you should add an
explicit Newsgroups: header to the original message.  Make this header 
contain a list of all the gated newsgroups.  I think you'll still get
errors on the second and subsequent posts, but they should be easily
ignored (I can't think of a simple way to avoid the errors).

And I agree that having to approve for each group sucks.
