[Mailman-Users] Restricting access to Listinfo

Is there any way to password protect the lisinfo page that the
subscribers get ? I was thinking of protecting it with an htaccess file
but I realised that it is controlled with a CGI script , anybody know
how to password protect this page so I don't get flooded by strangers
requesting to be on a internal mailing list...
