[Mailman-Users] Returned mail: unknown mailer error 2

When replaying to a confirmation of subscription message is get the message
returned with the following text:

The original message was received at Sun, 19 Mar 2000 18:59:45 -0800
from tron.ernestallen.com [205.162.240.253]

"|/home/mailman/mail/wrapper mailcmd eaacustomers"
    (expanded from: <eaacustomers-request at ernestallen.com>)

554 "|/home/mailman/mail/wrapper mailcmd eaacustomers"... unknown mailer
error 2

I am using sendmail and the error hints that the program occurs because it
is not configured to send to a program, however it works fine when I send
messages to eaacustomers at ernestallen.com and that send to a program.
below are the entries in my aliases file:

When I run check_perms -f it says that there are no problems.  GID 12 is the
mail group and GID 2 is daemon

Any ideas?
