[Mailman-Users] Automated addition of users to a "mailman" maintained mailing list

I am the administrator of a mailing list that had been run under "listproc",
and is now running under "mailman"

It allowed addition of users from an "adduser" script that added users to the list
via an email message, thus allowing automation of the process.  Can this
be done under "mailman"?  Thanks for your help.
