[Mailman-Users] Slash in email address???

Folks:

How do you deal with a slash '/' in the email address of a subscriber?

I've got a person who's address is John_doe/Corporate at acme.com (made up, of 
course ... but basically the same).

If they try to request their password, they are told that "john_doe" is not 
a member of the list.  They definitely are a subscriber.
