[Mailman-Users] aliases

When I create a new list, if I'm doing it as mailman, I can't add
entries to the aliases file since it's owned by root. Also, when I try
running newaliases, I get a permission denied.

Currently, when I run newaliases as root, after manually adding
something to the aliases file, it doesn't seem to take. I still can't
e-mail to that new alias I created. I get a no such user here error.
Whether it's a mailman alias, or just a personal one I created. What's
wrong?

My permissions on my aliases files are:
[admin at raq /etc]$ ls -l aliases*
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1109 Aug 31 19:13 aliases
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 20480 Sep 1 17:33 aliases.db
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1609 Aug 24 16:16 aliases.majordomo
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 20480 Sep 1 17:33 aliases.majordomo.db
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 259 Jul 5 20:36 aliases.majordomo.master
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 737 Jul 5 20:36 aliases.master

Thanks for all your help everyone.
