[Mailman-Users] Message Duplication when sending to Multiple Lists

I am a novice mailman user.  Does mailman have a mechanism to prevent multiple copies of the same message being delivered when a message is sent to two or more lists, and the recipients are on both lists?

Can this issue be addressed using a hierachical set of lists?
