You need to be able to tell the incoming MTA to pipe mail addressed to
any of the list addresses to the mail/mailman wrapper with appropriate
arguments. With Sendmail and Postfix, this is normally done with
aliases.

It's not absolutely mandatory, but you should be able to handle VERP
like addresses. E.g. incoming mail to

  mailman-users-bounces+msapiro=value.net at python.org

needs to be delivered in exactly the same way as mail to

  mailman-users-bounces at python.org

If Lotus Notes can do these things, you should be OK, but also see the
second paragraph of
