contains a script that can be used with bin/withlist to attach a
topic to a user on a specified mailing list. Your variation
would be straightforward. (The other messages in that thread
may be useful to you.)
Once you have the people subscribed, the script shown in:
http://mail.python.org/pipermail/mailman-users/2004-June/037561.html
may be helpful in listing the topic subscriptions.
