What happens next is what happens with any subscribe. Confirmation,
approval and notification all are controlled by various list settings.

If you mean that you want immediate subscription with no confirmation
or approval, you have to set that for the list, and you probably have
to set ALLOW_OPEN_SUBSCRIBE = Yes in mm_cfg.py to get that option.

NOTE - if you allow subscription without confirmation or approval,
anyone can subscribe anyone else via any method without their consent.
