This really seems to be a frequently recurring theme here.
I have taken it upon myself to learn Python to do another
customization I have in mind (I want to be able to trigger external
scripts on subscribe/unsubscribe events) and I may try to implement
such a feature as a sort of "final project" for myself.
No promises on whether I will get this done or when it will happen if
I do. It's not a high priority for me.
If I do choose to implement it, I will make the code available as a patch.
