This is normally a function of the MUA (mail client) viewing the
message or the web browser viewing the message in the archive, but
Mailman might be involved if the link to the stored attachment doesn't
have a 'correct' extension. Depending on the attachment's name and
MIME type in the original message and Mailman's configuration, images
can get stored with an extension such as '.bin' which is inappropriate
for the content.

The explananation depends on the MUA involved. One potential
work-around is to view the archived message with a web browser and
right-click the link to the attachment and chose 'save target' or
whatever the browser calls it. Then it may be necessary to edit the
extension (e.g., change .bin to .jpg) as appropriate for the actual
content.

It's hard to be more specific without more detail such as the Name: and
Type: and the extension in the URL: from the 'non-text attachment was
scrubbed' message.
