Yes it is; it's under the Python 1.5.2 license, which was basically
the same as the BSD license.

The Medusa distribution already contains enough unmaintained and
possibly-broken code; I don't want to go adding more of it!  Is there
a reason you'd want to have a C++ implementation available?
