[PSF-Volunteers] (Somewhat Urgent) Summer of Code Mentors Needed

Following up (someoen asked for more details).

We don't know as of yet what will be required in terms of mentorship,
since none of us has done this before.  You should however read:

specifically the line:

#  ... a person to monitor the progress of the students and mentor
them as the project goes forward.

and it'd be good to sign up for the summer-discuss list and scan
through the archives.

The purpose of the program is to make it possible for bright students
who would otherwise flip burgers to "flip bits instead".  In
particular, to foster people's involvements in the open source
community.  So we want mentors who could assist with that -- meaning
people who are or have been actively involved in open source projects,
understand the mechanics (both technical, community, etc.).

Hopefully that clarifies my expectations (whether they're shared, I
don't know!).
