I cannot reproduce the issue. I tried on Linux, a 32-bit and 64-bit
pypy-c's version 1.5, compared to a 32-bit and 64-bit CPython 2.7, and
the former is 20%-30% faster than the latter on your example... Could
the problem be on the OSX or Windows pypy-c?
