I just did, but it gives the expected no OPENSSL_Applink error ;-(

Just a guess, but I assume this problem holds for the Python SSL module as
well. So I'm hoping Guido will release a new Python 2.4 with applink.c to
support OpenSSL >= 0.9.8. Any chance of that?
I'm not sufficiently fluent in the VC/SWIG business to see how to fit applink.c
in M2Crypto instead, so can't propose a better solution than recompiling
python/py2exe.
