Yes, I really do have this need. Not specifically for a httpd daemon,
but I think it would be nice to see Python as a comparable alternative
to C++ let's say for performance oriented applications.

Well, architectural approaches take much more work and much better
programmers. I'd be nice to have some more firepower as
to not have to lean so heavily in this direction every time.

I'm sure the world's top tennis players could beat me quite handily
with a frying plan, but they'd have to work so much harder than if
they just had a real racquet.
