As a tracker gardener, I disagree. I would expect such to cause more 
trouble than it is worth.

Bug reports *are* appropriate.

The few issues that would get such a 2.7+ tag can just as well be marked 
2.7/closed/postponed.

Which would make new the version tag YAGNI
